I gained my first medical degree from Oxford University and have subsequently trained as an eye surgeon in Manchester and Edinburgh. I completed advanced subspecialty training in medical disease of the retina at Moorfields eye hospital in 2009 and currently specialise in these conditions, particularly diabetes and age related macular degeneration. I am an associate editor and reviewer for prestigious international eye journals, have completed an additional Doctorate in research at Oxford University and published around 50 papers in peer reviewed journals.

In my consultant position at Manchester Eye Hospital I am very involved in research and the development of the Clinical trials unit, allowing me to keep up to date with the latest scientifically proven treatments for eye disease.
