Mr Sajjad Mahmood
MA MB BCHIR FRCOPHTH
Mr Mahmood graduated from the University of Cambridge in 1997. He has trained as a doctor in London and the North West. He did his higher specialist training as an ophthalmologist in Manchester and as Senior Medical Retina fellow at the Royal Liverpool University Hospital.
Mr Mahmood was appointed as a medical retina specialist in Manchester Royal Eye Hospital in 2008. He is active in research in the areas of age-related macular degeneration and diabetic eye disease.
He has special clinical interest in the following areas:
Age-related Macular Degeneration
Diabetic eye Disease
General Retinal Disease (including retinal vascular disease)
Cataract
Treatments performed:
Intravitreal injection therapy (includes Lucentis, Avastin, steroid including Ozurdex)
Laser treatment for diabetic eye disease and other retinal problems
Photodynamic therapy treatment
Cataract Surgery
