Brief biography:
Saj Ataullah graduated in Medicine from Charing Cross & Westminster Medical School, University of London, in 1991. After 7 years of ophthalmology training in London and Manchester Saj trained extensively in oculoplastic surgery (also called ophthalmic plastic surgery) both internationally and in the UK.
Oculoplastic surgery focuses on disorders of the eyelids, eyebrows, tear drainage system and the orbit (the bones and tissues that make up the eye socket).
Saj was appointed as a Consultant Ophthalmic & Oculoplastic Surgeon at Manchester Royal Eye Hospital in 2002. He has over 17 years of ophthalmology experience.

- Saj Ataullah has co-run an internationally renowned fellowship in oculoplastic, lacrimal and orbital surgery at Manchester Royal Eye Hospital since 2002. During this time he has trained surgeons from around the world as well as the U.K.
- Saj was appointed as the Royal College of Ophthalmologists’ Tutor for Manchester Royal Eye Hospital in 2005 and is closely involved with the appointment, assessment, appraisal and training of junior doctors at MREH.
- He has published in international peer-reviewed journals and has presented scientific papers in the USA, Australia, New Zealand, Germany, Sweden, and Belgium as well as the UK.
