Brief Biography
In 1995 I became the first subspecialist paediatric ophthalmologist in Manchester after a training at Great Ormond Street, London. Manchester Royal Eye Hospital now has a large and dynamic paediatric eye team and trains 2 clinical fellows. Our research is published widely. I teach nationally and internationally. For 5 years I have run workshops on paediatric cataract at the American Association for Paediatric Ophthalmology and Strabismus. I hosted the European Paediatric Ophthalmology Society meeting in 2004 and received the University of Sydney’s Claffy medal in 2006. I have been a member of the Paediatric Sub-committee of the RCOphth since 2002.
