Refractive Lensectomy

Some people's eyes are unsuitable for laser vision correction but their eyes' focusing abnormalities can be corrected by specialised intraocular implants. Refractive lensectomy is very similar to cataract surgery, the most commonly performed eye surgery in the world.

There are four different types of implants:

1. Accommodating IOLs correct presbyopia, longsightedness and low-degree shortsightedness; 2. Single vision IOLs correct shortsightedness and longsightedness;
3. Toric IOLs correct astigmatism, shortsightedness and longsightedness; 4. Phakic IOLs correct shortsightedness and longsightedness without removing the lens of the eye, which is too weak or strong. This can be reversible procedure.
